Aberdeen-headquartered PD&MS has said it intends to increase its headcount by around 25% over the next year to support a series of recent contract wins.
The firm has toasted a “very busy and successful” two years in decommissioning as well as engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
PD&MS, which employs around 400 people in Aberdeen and internationally, also expects strong growth opportunities in the New Year.
Technical services director, Derek Thoms, said that has brought the need for a recruitment drive.
He said: “It is a particularly positive outlook across all areas of the business. Within our the technical team, we’re looking to recruit across all our engineering disciplines.
“There have been contract wins in the EPC and decommissioning sectors for the UK and Overseas and with a strong pipeline of opportunities ahead we are forecasting continued growth, hence requirement to add likeminded people to our team.
“It’s not about taking on over 100 people next month, it will be managed growth but I do expect us to continue grow our headcount by circa 25% in the next year to service existing clients and support new contracts wins.”
The firm has operations across the UK, Dutch and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, as well as work for BP in the Caspian Sea, served by an office in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In October, PD&MS secured a contract renewal to support Chrysaor’s Lomond, Everest and Armada platforms over two-years.
That followed a hat-trick of new deals worth £10m at the start of the year, including a multimillion-pound deal with Spirit Energy to decommission the topsides of two unmanned platforms on the Morecambe Bay gas field in the East Irish Sea.
The UK North Sea will continue to be a key focus for the firm going forward, according to Mr Thoms.
He added: “As an EPCC services provider we aim to be seen as a market leading, in terms of what we do, and the way we do it.
“Our focus is to retain and grow work here in the UKCS but there are many international opportunities also.
“After a very busy and successful last 2 years in decommissioning, we are growing very well into the sector.
“We go into 2019 optimistic that this is an area with strong growth potential for us, both with existing clients and new opportunities in the UKCS, Norway and Dutch sectors.”
