Output from the UK’s largest oilfield is believed to have risen to more than 200,000 barrels per day, boosting supplies of North Sea crude.
According to sources, production from Nexen’s Buzzard field – usually the largest contributor to the North Sea’s Forties crude stream – has recovered after a technical problem hit output.
A spokesman for Canada-based Nexen confirmed output had returned to normal levels.
