AKER Solutions said yesterday it had won a £26million contract which would guarantee the future of more than 180 north-east jobs.
The oilfield engineering service group said the two-year deal in the UK North Sea also had two optional one-year extensions, each worth £13million a year.
Aker said it would carry out the maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) work for an undisclosed customer from its Aberdeen base. MMO managing director in Aberdeen Mike Forbes, said: “We are dedicated to further developing our highly efficient operations and maintenance service where our activities are currently at an all time high.”
