A nomination committee put in place to aid the election of directors to the board of Norwegian energy giant Equinor has recommended Finn Bjorn Ruyter as a new member.
Mr Bjorn Ruyter is currently the chief executive of Hafslund E-CO since taking that role in 2018.
He was chief executive of Hafslund ASA from 2012, and chief financial officer between 2010 and 2011.
From 1991-1996 Ruyter worked with energy trading in Norsk Hydro.
Between 1996-2009 he led the power trading group and from 1999 also the energy division in Elkem.
The committee also recommends a re-election of Jon Erik Reinhardsen as chairman and election of Jeroen van der Veer as deputy chair of the board, in addition to the re-election of Wenche Agerup, Bjorn Tore Godal, Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen, Anne Drinkwater and Jonathan Lewis as shareholder-elected members of the board of directors.
It’s understood deputy chairman Roy Franklin has told the committee he will be standing down from his role and will not be seeking re-election.
