Orsted’s giant Hornsea One Offshore Wind Farm has announced it has hit a major construction milestone.
The Danish wind firm said today it has hit the 100 turbine mark at the wind project, with 75 turbines left to instal.
Orsted said the turbines stand “15 meters taller than the London Gherkin”.
Hornsea One is under construction and will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm when commissioned in 2020.
The wind farm will cover an area of 407km2 and will be located in the North Sea 120km from the UK east coast.
