The final countdown to the 2019 Northern Star Business Awards is on, and there are only a few tables left for this year’s celebration of business innovation, entrepreneurship and success.
About 600 guests representing businesses of all sizes and sectors across the north-east will be at P&J Live in Aberdeen for the black-tie evening next Thursday.
Now in their 16th year, having been held for the first time in 2004, the Northern Star Business Awards are organised annually by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).
This year’s event is being held in partnership with The Press and Journal.
AGCC chief executive Russell Borthwick said: “These awards are about the great work being done by businesses across the length and breadth of our fantastic region.
“We see Northern Star as providing a great stage to showcase and celebrate this, and contributing to our role in talking up our city region as a great place to live, work, study, invest and do business.
“There are clear signs of optimism returning to the local economy, but we must not countenance any complacency and ensure the positive momentum is maintained.
“I’m delighted to say competition has once again been very high across the categories this year – a welcome reminder if one was needed that our region really punches above its weight.”
The 13 award categories reflect the dynamic, progressive and diverse range of businesses helping to make sure the region’s economy thrives.
Four new sponsors are on board for some of the gongs that will be handed out on the night.
Colin Lawson Transport is sponsoring the “going global” accolade for a business making a big impact overseas?
The “marketing magic” award – sponsored by Nucore Group – will recognise a campaign that has driven customers through the door, or grown exposure.
GM Flow Measurement Services is sponsoring the gong for “inspiration from innovation”, which is aimed at companies at the forefront of latest thinking and using technology or innovation to drive the future.
The “staff matter” award, sponsored by Spirit Energy, is for organisations who truly look after their people.
