SAFETY offshore 20 years after the Piper Alpha disaster in the North Sea in which 167 people died was the keynote theme at the seventh annual dinner of the North of Scotland branch of the Safety and Reliability Society (Sars).
Speakers at the Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen included Chris Allen, health, safety, security and environment adviser of Oil & Gas UK, and Professor David Alexander, director of the Centre for Trauma Research at the Robert Gordon University
The proceedings were chaired by senior safety engineer, Australian Dr Ian Stanley.
Lord Cullen presented Graham Dalzell with an honorary fellowship of the society.
