Oil contractor Saipem has announced the award of three new contracts with BP worth over £100 million.
The agreement, relating to work for BP’s Caspian Sea assets, is for the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil and gas (ACG) field offshore Azerbaijan.
The three contract deal is understood to be around £117m.
Saipem said two contracts are for pipeline design, pipelay and related activities, while the third is for transportation and installation of four jacket pin piles, subsea structure and spools.
The Italian firm said it had be awarded one of these contracts as a result of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase awarded by BP to Saipem’s Xsight Division, in consortium with local partners Bos Shelf and Star Gulf, which were engaged from an early stage and on a fast track basis.
It said the has been achieved thanks above all to collaboration between Saipem’s Xsight and Offshore E&C Divisions, a synergy that will be maintained to ensure continuity and efficiency to the execution of the EPCI project.
