APEX Tubulars Inspection Services, the Aberdeen-based provider of casing and drillpipe inspection and repair services to the oil and gas industry, has defied market conditions and responded to client demand by investing £1million in a new machine shop, creating 12 jobs.
The company said that since the new facility opened in mid-February, it had secured contracts worth in excess of £1million and in its first year of operation the machine shop was expected to add about £3million of turnover to the company.
The new positions include quality management, skilled machine operators, labourers, welders and turners, adding to Apex’s 65-strong workforce.
Apex said that with the facility fully operational and given forecast growth it expected to double and possibly treble its machine shop staff numbers by the year-end.
The bespoke machine shop was constructed following significant client demand to provide a full range of inspection, repair and manufacturing services under one roof.
Apex Tubulars Inspection Services is a sister company to Apex Tubulars, which supplies downhole casing and tubing to the oil and gas industry.
