INVERURIE firm Zenith Oilfield Technology was presented yesterday with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for outstanding achievement in international trade.
Richard Hamilton, Zenith’s finance director, received the award from the Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire, Angus Farquharson, at a reception in the Thainstone House Hotel, at Inverurie.
Zenith was founded five years ago by managing director Greg Davie, Mr Hamilton, engineering director Les Jordan and sales director Keith Kettlewell. It has since grown to employ 55, working in 30 countries.
Mr Davie said: “This is a great honour for Zenith. We have been working hard over the last five years to grow the business and we are surprised and delighted to have our efforts recognised by such a prestigious award.
“Everyone at Zenith is proud to have played their part in developing a world-class business centred in Aberdeenshire but supporting an ever-expanding international market.”
Zenith services the artificial-lift sector of the international oil industry through the design, development, assembly, sale and support of technology related to gathering and analysis of downhole data and the design of generic and bespoke completion equipment.
