The financial controller of Forth Ports, Alex Smith, has today been appointed to the board of the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult.
Ms Smith currently operates as group financial controller, risk and insurance manager for the privately-owned UK ports group.
Prior to joining Forth Ports, Ms Smith was seconded to the Scottish Government’s Energy Directorate to support the team which created the Renewable Energy Investment Fund.
ORE chairman Colin Hood said: “Alex brings extensive financial experience having worked in a variety of roles within PricewaterhouseCoopers, including external audit and transaction services across a wide variety of industry sectors.
“She will combine her financial and renewable energy experience to further strengthen the Catapult’s finance, risk management and governance practices.”
Ms Smith added: “The sector is on course to be a vital part of the future global energy mix and organisations such as ORE Catapult are essential in making offshore renewable energy a UK and global success story.”
