THE UK arm of the Abu Dhabi national energy company TAQA Bratani is bringing all its onshore operations together at its headquarters site near Aberdeen.
It leases one building extending to around 43,000sq ft at Westpoint Business Park, Westhill, from Knight Property Group.
A new deal with Knight involves the letting of a further two buildings totalling 33,483sqft of additional space.
These are due to be fully occupied in the next few weeks.
Leo Koot, managing director of TAQA Bratani, said the company used four sites in Scotland, but it made sense to have everyone together at one location.
TAQA Bratani has seen rapid growth in the last couple of years and employs 1,200 – 400 staff and 800 contractors – between its onshore and offshore operations.
No additions to the workforce are anticipated in the short term.
The company will have daily production of around 40,000 barrels of oil from its UK operations this year and is targeting this rising to about 60,000 barrels a day by 2012.
Mr Koot said: “We want to maintain a long-term business in the UK.”
He said Westpoint had proved to be a perfect location for TAQA to expand its North Sea operations.
James Barrack, chairman and managing director of Knight Property Group, added: “We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with TAQA.
“The company has gone from strength to strength, it is a real asset to the region and its presence is ensuring that many local companies are benefiting from securing partnership contracts for their services.
“This deal means that Westpoint Business Park is now fully occupied and highlights the continuing popularity of the Westhill area for businesses looking for high- standard office accommodation with excellent transport links to the city centre and surrounding industrial areas.”
