Oilfield engineering service group Aker Solutions provided another job boost for the north-east yesterday after it announced plans to add 550 people to its subsea division’s workforce.
The Norwegian giant, which already employs 2,500 people in the Aberdeen area, said most of the new jobs would be based locally.
The three-year recruitment drive comes less than two weeks after Aker Qserv, part of Aker Solutions’ new well-intervention service arm, said it wanted to increase its north-east employee numbers by up to 300 by 2016.
