ABERDEEN-BASED integrated service company SKN Electrical Services said yesterday it had enjoyed a successful second year of business, increasing turnover by more than 50%.
SKN, which specialises in the supply of electrical and instrumentation workers who can work at heights, has reported turnover of £5.3million to March, compared to the £3.5million achieved during its first year of operations.
It hopes to grow its turnover to £8million during its third year.
The company’s second year included the opening of a new office in Baku in September, with operations director Stuart Naismith heading up the base.
SKN’s growth in the past two years includes increasing its workforce from six to more than 100. A recruitment drive is under way for more field personnel for client projects in the North Sea and overseas.
Mr Naismith said: “Our second-year turnover figures are indicative of the remarkable success and level of growth that SKN has experienced during the past 12 months.
“We’ve worked hard to build a pool of skilled personnel qualified to international standards and it’s rewarding to see that our expertise and excellent growing reputation is being recognised by the clients who employ our services.
“The launch of the Baku office has played a major role in SKN’s success and we are delighted to be working in the Azerbaijan region, which is currently a hub of activity for many of the industry’s major players.”
