OFFSHORE accommodation module and engineering service cabin specialist Ferguson Modular is taking on more staff after new contract wins for work overseas.
The subsidiary of Inverurie-based Ferguson Group is recruiting 12 people to add to the parent’s 140-strong team in the north-east and around the world. Ferguson Group said the expansion would meet increased demand after international contracts worth over £550,000 were secured in recent weeks.
One of the deals sees Ferguson Modular supplying subsea construction company Subocean Group with two new units to add to an existing order for a 48-person accommodation complex.
Other contract wins include supply of a laboratory module to Talisman Energy (UK) in the North Sea and an office module to Hess in Libya, while CNR International UK struck a two-year hire deal for an office module for use offshore of Gabon.
In addition, a contract win with Saipem covers the hire of three accommodation units for hook-up activities offshore Italy and another deal sees Ferguson supplying units to Franks International for use as office and training facilities in Aberdeen.
Ferguson Modular business development director Gary Wilson said: “We have driven ourselves hard in 2009 in implementing our strategic international growth plan. These recent contract wins are reflective of this and of the value of our continued investment in the business.”
