Outstanding subsea firms and workers were recognised at an industry award dinner in Aberdeen last night.
The Subsea UK event saw the best in the sector gather to celebrate best-in-class in areas from innovation and technology to safety leadership.
More than 750 people were at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre to see Newcastle-based Duco crowned subsea firm of the year.
Subsea UK chief executive Neil Gordon said: “These awards set out to recognise and reward those companies and individuals who continue to push the boundaries and ensure that the UK subsea sector leads the way globally.
“An impressive shortlist this year meant it was tougher than ever to identify clear winners. Our winners represent the impressive range of talent and innovation that is keeping the UK subsea sector at the forefront across the globe.”
Marine-technology firm Nautronix, of Aberdeen, won the innovation and technology category for its emergency blowout preventer.
The global exports award went to another Granite City company, Bowtech, for its ambitious marketing strategy.
Aberdeen-based Expro picked up an award for its commitment to good health and safety plus for innovation in the training and development of staff.
Meanwhile, the award for emerging talent was won by Robert Eddon, of Newcastle-based Soil Machine Dynamics.
Other winners included Jerry Baker, chief engineer at Atkins, in Newcastle, who came away with the Society for Underwater Technology, Aberdeen branch, merit award for his outstanding contribution to the industry in a career spanning 40-plus years.
