Shell has decided to give exploration offshore deepwater Nova Scotia a try by successfully bidding four concessions. The company is no stranger to exploration in the area, but its latest play lies in 1,120m to 4,200m of water.
Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board said that Shell’s pledge of some $956.7million in work expenditures during the initial six-year exploration period won the NS11-1 round to obtain a nine-year exploration licence for the four concessions.
