A Scottish firm has scooped a lucrative multi-million pound deal to run construction at a giant onshore wind farm in East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway.
The £67 million contract, agreed with Swedish wind developer Vattenfall for its 240MW South Kyle Wind Farm, will see civil-engineers RJ McLeod deliver roads, access tracks, electrical infrastructure and turbine foundations at the site.
Planned near Dalmellington and between East Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway, South Kyle the wind farm will generate enough energy to power 170,000 homes.

“This is our fourth project with Vattenfall who recognise the skills and experience of our staff and operatives as well as our track record of using local resources and we look forward to jointly delivering this important energy asset.”
Vattenfall has entered a partnership with Greencoat UK Wind, who will acquire the 50-turbine wind farm following its completion.
It will construct the wind farm and will manage the asset on behalf of Greencoat for a minimum of 10 years.
