The Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) has appointed Gillian King, vice-president for Europe, Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Africa at north-east oil and gas services firm Tendeka, to its board.
Ms King has worked in the industry for nearly 20 years and is passionate about new technology, with her time at Westill-based Tendeka focused on the commercialisation of a string of innovative products.
At OGTC she will work with chief executive Colette Cohen and new chairman Martin Gilbert to shape the future direction of the facility.
She will also be part of its audit committee, making sure there are resources, controls, and governance in place to deliver on the centre’s goals.
Ms Cohen said: “Her background in the development and deployment of new technology will be a hugely valuable addition to the board’s skills base.”
Ms King, who boasts a biochemistry degree from Aberdeen University and a masters in oil and gas offshore engineering from Robert Gordon University, said: “It’s a huge honour for me to join the OGTC board and to be given the opportunity to contribute to such an integral part of the energy transition.
“Technology has a key role to play in achieving our net-zero goals and I hope I can use my experience to support new developers in getting their ideas to the market.”
