An investigation has been launched after a cargo ship ran aground as it entered Aberdeen Harbour.
The alarm was raised at 7.30am today.
The 400ft MV Arrow had reportedly travelled from Lerwick to the Granite City
It could be seen partially out of the water near the Aberdeen Harbour building.
After assistance from a number of smaller vessels and harbour tug boats, the ship was ferried into the harbour.
It was reported to be back alongside the harbour at around 8.45am.
A spokesman for Aberdeen Coastguard said: “There have been no reported injuries and no reported pollution.”
A spokesman for Serco NorthLink Ferries said: “We can confirm that the chartered MV Arrow freight vessel ran aground upon entering Aberdeen Harbour at approximately 0730 today. There were no reported injuries or risk to the environment and the vessel has since been freed and proceeded to its normal berth.
“We are working with Aberdeen Harbour Board, the vessel’s owners and the relevant authorities to conduct a full investigation.”
