Active Sustainable Energy Systems said yesterday it had landed contracts worth nearly £4million.
This includes commercial work for two large-scale developments in Aberdeen city centre and Westhill, Aberdeenshire, plus a large domestic project at the Findhorn Eco Village, valued at a combined £1.8million.
A further £2million worth of work has been secured for the third and fourth quarter, putting the firm on target for turnover of £6.7million this year.
The increase in business means Active is undergoing a recruitment drive for 10 engineers to add to its team of 67 in Aberdeen and Inverness.
Managing director Ian Nicol said: “We are finding the market extremely positive following a relatively slow paced 2011.
“I am looking forward to further expanding the company and our team off the back of these contract wins.
“We had expected a dip in renewable-energy work following the UK Government’s handling of the feed-in-tariffs last year, but interest in our service offering and technologies remains strong.”
