Premier Oil has reached another milestone in its Tolmount gas project in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, a photograph shared online shows.
The snap shows the Tolmount topsides and jacket sitting on a transportation barge in Italy ahead of their voyage to the UK southern North Sea.
Operator Premier Oil said in July that the structures, which are being built in Rosetti Marino’s yard, would be loaded out later that month, ahead of sailaway in August.
It said the offshore installation of the platform should take place in late September or early October, with first gas following in the second quarter of 2021.
Premier Oil has a 50% stake in the project, while Dana Petroleum has the remaining 50%.
In an innovative infrastructure agreement, Dana and Kellas Midstream agreed to jointly build and own the platform and export pipeline for Tolmount.
For its part, Premier agreed to pay a tariff for the transportation and processing of Tolmount gas, and for the development drilling campaign.
