Subsea market intelligence and consultancy firm Archer Knight, of Aberdeen, has diversified into offshore wind.
The company launched its web-based Flowline software earlier this year to give subsea supply chain firms greater insight into where they can find the most profitable opportunities.
Flowline drives data and analysis directly to its users, with charts and graphics highlighting vessel and other offshore activity. The product has recently been modified to include offshore wind developments in a move expected to encourage other traditionally oil and gas-focused businesses to diversify into renewables.
Around 700 offshore wind projects will be included by early September, allowing users to see details of ownership and operators.
Archer Knight said: “Diversification is a key concern across the energy industry. This has become even more important in recent months as global events mean companies are rethinking their business models.
“Adding offshore wind to Flowline will ensure those companies wanting to diversify have access to the information they need to take their businesses forward.”
