Oil and gas engineering service firm Plexus Holdings, of Aberdeen, has signed a £1.3million deal with a subsidiary of BG Group for work in the North Sea.
BG International has placed the order for wellhead equipment for high-pressure, high-temperature (HP/HT) gas exploration operations.
Plexus said yesterday it expected revenue from the contract to start flowing in November. Chief executive Ben van Bilderbeek said: “As drilling moves to more challenging terrains and pressures, HP/HT wellhead equipment which adheres to the highest safety standards is becoming more and more recognised as a necessity by the oil and gas industry.”
He also said he expected Plexus to continue to grow in the HP/HT market.
Aker Solutions said yesterday its Aberdeen office would be involved in the procurement, manufacturing and assembly for a £50million contract with French oil giant Total in Angola. Aker’s north-east operation will manage the subsea wellheads and control systems for seven new subsea tree systems at the Dalia field.
