Decommissioning services firm Petrodec has completed its second major skidding operation with the Pickerill B topside removal.
The news represents the latest milestone in the decommissioning of the Perenco UK operated Pickerill platforms in the UKCS’ block 48/11 license area in the Southern North Sea, around 65km off the coast of Lincolnshire, England.
Petrodec announced in June it had successfully removed the topside of the Pickerill A unmanned platform.
Similar to the first works, Pickerill B was plugged and abandoned prior to topside removal using the Energy Endeavour vessel (ERDA).
The topside is now en route to Vlissingen harbour in the Netherlands where it will be dismantled.
Dutch-headquartered Petrodec was formed with investment from French operator Perenco, however it is not a dedicated subsidiary.
