The director who oversaw Global Energy Group’s acquisition of Nigg Yard has left the business.
Douglas Yule, who led the company’s negotiations when it bought the Easter Ross yard last year in a deal understood to be worth more than £10million, said yesterday he was stepping down to seek new challenges.
Mr Yule said he expected to take a couple of months out before looking for a new role, but planned to remain in the Highlands.
He added: “It has been a privilege to work for one of the most dynamic and fast-growing companies in Scotland.
“I leave with a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction at having been able to help bring Nigg back into productive ownership, which will benefit the whole of the Highlands for years to come.”
Global chairman Roy McGregor said “Douglas was involved in a number of areas of our business, but particularly led the negotiations and purchase of the Nigg Yard for the group and was pivotal in securing that successful outcome.
“We are sorry he is leaving to seek new challenges and we wish him every success in the future.”
