Energy service firm 3sun Group said yesterday its inspection division had won £1million of work in the six months since it was launched.
The group opened 3sun Inspection Services late last year and the business has already signed a string of contracts to provide offshore generator inspections, as well as a deal to carry out hose inspections and crane load tests on board two vessels.
Graham Hacon, managing director of 3sun Group, said: “The launch of the inspection division was a major part of 3sun Group’s growth strategy, which has also seen the acquisition of Dawson Energy and the opening of new bases.
“The level of new business we have already secured as a result of the inspection division launch is highly encouraging and we are very much looking forward to working with new and existing clients.”
The firm has enjoyed significant growth over the past two years, with turnover increasing from £2.4million in 2010 to £6.5million last year. It said it was on target to take in almost £12million this year. It has 175 people working from offices at Great Yarmouth, Oban and Bergen, Norway, as well as Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
