Expert advice on doing business in the emerging giant Brazil will be available to oil and gas companies thanks to a series of workshops which are to return due to popular demand.
On August 21 and September 4, five pragmatic and interactive modules entitled “Success in Brazil” will be delivered at Marischal College in the city centre, led by cultural specialists Business in Brazil and Brazilian certified law firm Nabas Legal. These will be supported by specific topics provided by Campbell Dallas LLP and Clydesdale Bank focusing on legal requirements, taxation, importation, market entry routes, business culture and foreign exchange.
The workshops have also been backed by the Federation of Industries of Rio Grande do Sul State (FIERGS) and the Rio Grande do Sul Development Agency (AGDI), and will tie in with a planned mission to Rio Grande do Sul in September.
As well as learning the key knowledge and skills essential for a sound and successful commercial strategy in Brazil, delegates at the forthcoming Aberdeen events will gain an appreciation of the drivers and background to Brazil’s growth trajectory as well as identifying the commercial context for business in the South American country.
Key aspects of doing business in Brazil will also fall under the spotlight, along with how to interact and negotiate, and how cost pressures such as tax can impact on investment plans.
Commenting on the “Success on Brazil” workshops, organiser William Barron said: “As was clearly illustrated by the excellent uptake for our events in Aberdeen in February and March this year, many companies in the North Sea oil and gas industry wish to benefit from the fast-growing Brazilian energy sector. Companies who understand the challenges and idiosyncrasies of this marketplace greatly increase their chances of success in this rapid expansion phase of the sector in Brazil.
“These latest workshops are designed to inform businesses about establishing trade with Brazil and how to reduce risk by understanding the culture and market potential. They will be of significant value to companies looking to enter Brazil for the first time or those consolidating and expanding current interests.”
The workshops are limited to a maximum of 12 delegates so early booking is advised. To find out more or to book a place, contact William Barron at wjb@businessinbrazil.co.uk or call (01332) 384087 or (07976) 302052.
