Repsol Sinopec Resources UK (RSRUK) has said it expects to make a final investment decision (FID) on a new infill project at its Montrose field next year.
The company intends to develop a four well, subsea tieback to the Montrose bridge-linked platform.
A cantilever deck extension would be required on the platform to located the required topsides equipment, RSRUK said on the Oil and Gas Authority’s Project Pathfinder portal.
It had intended to make an FID this year, but a spokeswoman for the company has now confirmed RSRUK will wait until 2021 before making a final call.
She said: “Montrose Infill has been taken to a point of Technical conclusion and FID is now expected in 2021.”
