Maersk Training officially opened its new emergency-response training ground yesterday at Portlethen, near Aberdeen.
The firm, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, has invested £500,000 on expanding its facilities.
It is adding fire-team and boat training to its courses.
o Multimillion-pound award
Aberdeen oilfield service provider Expro has announced a multimillion-pound award in Australia.
It is to provide a full well-service contract to a large operator in a deal estimated to be worth about £13million.
Work is due to start shortly on the project that will continue until the end of 2014, and involve services on both an ongoing and specific “callout” basis.

Aberdeen energy consultant Xodus Group has re-entered the Australian market after a two-year gap.
The company said it had launched a £2million operation in Perth as it sees big opportunities for its integrated services in major greenfield projects.
