The trade body representing Highland energy firms has unveiled plans to gain a bigger share of the Aberdeen oil and gas market.
Energy North plans to run trade missions to the Granite City to help its 150 members catch the attention of more potential clients.
Its action plan for the coming year includes an aim to raise awareness of major projects and the opportunities they present, including supply-chain contracts associated with Amec’s £150million design work on the redevelopment of Clair Ridge.
Energy North chief executive Ian Couper said: “We have listened very carefully to our members who are eager to grow as part of the energy boom.
“As part of the plan we will be showcasing businesses at Oil and Gas UK’s Pilot Share Fair in Aberdeen this November.
“This is the biggest event in the industry calendar and is a major platform to promote services and find out about operator developments. The action plan is an important step forward for our oil and gas members and we are excited to be implementing it with them and supporting them in achieving their ambitions.”
Energy North said the trade missions to Aberdeen would help members to meet operators and contractors who could give them advice on the industry.
The trade body has also launched the second annual Energy North awards. More than 200 people are expected to attend the award ceremony in the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on Friday, October 12. Mr Couper said: “The north of Scotland has some of the best natural energy resources on the planet.
“This event enables us to reward those who have helped grow its reputation across Scotland, the UK and beyond.”
Applications for the eight awards must be submitted by Friday, September 7.
