Oilfield equipment firm Enerquip, of Aberdeen, has been presented with the highest official award for UK businesses.
The torque machine specialist earned its coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise for outstanding achievement in international trade.
The accolade – announced earlier this year but presented just in time for Christmas – recognises five-year-old Enerquip’s success in overseas markets, which accounted for about 95% of its £12 million-plus turnover in 2019.
International operations in Houston, in the US, and Abu Dhabi work in tandem with the global headquarters in Aberdeen and a base in Caithness to deliver products and services to clients in regions including Africa, the Americas, the Far East, Australia, the Middle East and Russia, as well as Europe.
EnerQuip was recently named among the UK’s 100 fastest-growing private technology companies, in the 20th Sunday Times Sage Tech Track 100.
It is also a finalist in the “going global” category of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Northern Star Business Awards, the winners of which will be announced early next year.
The firm was presented with its Queen’s Award by Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett in his role as lord-lieutenant.
Mr Crockett said: “EnerQuip has gone from strength-to-strength and developed a hugely successful global reach, thanks to the services it offers along with its highly skilled and committed workforce.”
