Guests at the Energy Ball agreed it had been a night of good food and good entertainment.
Andy Buchan, managing director at north-east oil and gas equipment-rental company Hiretech, said: “It was a fantastic night, absolutely superb.
“It is a great networking event, but it is also good to catch up with friends, customers and colleagues you maybe haven’t seen in a while.
“There was a good mixture of people, and not just from the oil and gas industry, which was good to see.”
Dave Christie, contract manager at Aberdeen firm Integrated Catering Equipment, said he enjoyed the performances by Escala and the Magic of Soul and Motown.
He said: “It was a really good event again. I have been a couple of times in the past, but this has to be the best year ever.
“The Energy Ball is the biggest show in town and is completely unrecognisable to what it was like when it started out.
“It is a great social night, and the entertainment was fantastic.”
Steve Kemp, a director at Centrica Energy Upstream, said: “The Press and Journal Energy ball is always one of the leading events in the industry’s calendar and tonight was no exception.
“It’s a great occasion to celebrate the hard work everyone puts in throughout the year over good food, fine wine and a fantastic live band – and where else could you drink champagne in a helicopter?”
