PDVSA and YPF are considering a joint exploration campaign in the South Atlantic Malvinas Basin located between the Argentine mainland and the Falkland Islands.
Rafael Rodriguez, president of PDVSA and Venezuela’s minister of petroleum and mining, told the Buenos Aires newspaper Pagina 12 that he and YPF CEO Miguel Galuccio had met in Buenos Aires to discuss a number of ways the two national oil companies could work together, including undertaking joint exploration for oil and gas in the area next to Falklands waters.
