Crisis-management specialist Altor Risk Group has launched a three-day training course aimed at teaching workers how to handle flashpoint situations offshore. The new course, led by former police negotiators, covers areas such as suicide intervention and strategies for dealing with threats and protests.
It culminates in a half-day exercise in which delegates put their newly acquired skills to the test in a mock emergency.
Altor project manager Tom Marchbank developed the offshore-crisis intervention skills course after identifying a shortage of knowledge among workers who may have to deal with a crisis.
