The north’s renewable-energy credentials will be given a boost today with the official opening of a new facility at Thurso.
Consultant Caithness Renewables has launched Renewables at No.10 to provide business support to energy firms as well as hot-desking facilities.
The firm has had the support of a £10,000 business growth grant from Highland Council to get its new venture off the ground.
A recruitment event for 18 north-east companies in Glasgow yesterday attracted thousands of visitors. Human resources consultancy Urquhart Partnership said more than 1,200 people were registered to attend but the final number was nearer 3,000.
Director Karen Reid said: “What an amount of pulling power the oil and gas industry has; so many people want to be a part of it.”
