Pipeline engineering specialist Stats Group will this week outline the difficulties in recruiting key staff at a major energy recruitment show.
HR manager Derek Smart will speak at Ignite! in London, tomorrow and on Wednesday and highlight how Stats was one of the first north-east companies totap into the emerging Polish job market. to recruit 12 fitters, machinists and welders to plug a skills gap.
Mr Smart said: “The oil and gas industry needs to change its approach to recruitment and retention, with investment in people being key to solving some of the skill shortages across the industry but which many companies fail to do in a proactive manner.”
Based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, Stats Group employs 153 people in the design, manufacture and installation of piping and isolation tools for the international oil and gas sector.
