US oil firm Apache said yesterday it had hit record production thanks to high rig counts and new facilities in its North American business.
Global production reached 771,000 barrels a day in the third quarter, 30% of that from North America, but North Sea output has fallen quarter-on-quarter since the start of 2012 after it took over the Beryl fields from ExxonMobil in a £1.1billion deal.
