Falkland Oil and Gas (FOGL) said today it had restarted drilling on the Scotia prospect north-east of the Falkland Islands.
Drilling was stopped last month after a routine check found an equipment malfunction on the blow-out preventer on the Ocean Rig semi-submersible unit Leiv Eiriksson.
FOGL said the repairs had delayed drilling by two weeks but that the rig was on a zero day-rate during this time. It added drilling on Scotia should take a further four to six weeks to complete.
