Aberdeen-headquartered engineering firm EnerMech has won a string of contracts for its UK operations worth “tens of millions” of pounds.
The opening months of 2021 has yielded eight deals for the firm, in a combination of new and extended contracts split across bases in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
EnerMech bagged its first campaign for the onshore utilities market through a five-year deal for crane services at a “significant petrochemical facility” in Southern Wales.
Other wins included TechnipFMC awarding the firm a “frame agreement extension” for pre-commissioning services, a Chrysaor deal for delivery of shutdown and small bore tubing services, and a deal to supply rigging equipment and crane management work for Petrofac’s UK duty holder assets.
Elsewhere EnerMech was also awarded a two-year contract extension for work on the BW Offshore Catcher FPSO, stationed on the namesake field operated by Premier Oil, following a successful initial two years on the project.
Regional director for Europe and Africa Ross McHardy said the “huge momentum” behind the start of the year is an encouraging sign.
“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we are seeing renewed opportunities with upstream, downstream and midstream projects as well as emerging developments in the fast-growing renewable sector that we are well placed to support”, he said.
“We look forward to continuing to deliver operational excellence and expanding our footprint across the region.”
The company also recently appointed its former Middle East and Caspian boss Steve Jones as its Southerm European general manager, with a focus on wider energy and infrastructure markets from renewables and nuclear through to petrochemicals and rail.
Mr McHardy added: “Our team has shown great resilience in maintaining safe operations across our regions and our approach to maintaining the highest standards while always seeking efficiencies has been recognised.
“Our work, particularly on pre-commissioning is a barometer of the sector, so it is encouraging to see new projects coming on stream and developments restarting.”
EnerMech, backed by private equity player Carlyle Group, has offices in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
