Aberdeen-based subsea installation firm Bibby Offshore said yesterday one of its divisions had completed a £900,000 job in the North Sea.
Bibby Remote Intervention (Bril), which provides remotely operated vehicle (ROV) inspection services, carried out the work for Centrica on the Mallard field.
Under the contract, Bril injected a scale inhibitor treatment into the production well to help maintain production levels.
Bril managing director Mike Arnold said: “This job signifies a significant step in the division’s development.
“Everyone at Bril is proud to have delivered a safe, high quality service for a major operator within the schedule and budget requirements set out.
“The job was fast-tracked and of an extremely reactive nature, which added to the complexity and planning of the operation.”
It comes after Bril installed ROVs on all three of Bibby Offshore’s North Sea diving-support vessels – the Bibby Topaz, Bibby Sapphire and Bibby Polaris – earlier this year.
Bibby Offshore, part of Bibby Line Group, started in 2003 with 10 employees but now has a 750-strong workforce.
It also has offices in Liverpool, Singapore and Trinidad.
