Aker Solutions has won a contract for Statoil at Gullfaks South to increase oil recovery, the company reports.
In an agreement worth an estimated £20million, Aker Solutions will deliver topside modification for tying-in two new Gullfaks South-located templates to Gullfaks A.
The company will also undertake topside modification work for re-routing production from existing template D from Gullfaks A to Gullfaks C.
“This will be a challenging and exciting job. It is an important assignment for Aker Solutions, which shows that we are competitive on jobs in all levels of the market,” said Tore Sjursen, head of Aker Solutions’ maintenance, modifications and operations business.
According to the company, the agreement’s tasks will help increase the rate of oil recovery and extend the life of the Gullfaks field.
Aker Solutions’ maintenance, modifications and operations employees in Bergen will perform the oil recovery topside EPCIc (engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning assistance) assignment.
Pre-fabrication work will be carried out at the company’s fabrications facilities at Aagotnes.
It is estimated the project will completed by the end of 2014.
