Survival training firm Falck Nutec said yesterday it had invested £400,000 in a new helicopter landing platform at Aberdeen International Airport.
The company said it had doubled the size of the mock helideck at the Fire Training Group’s (FTG) training centre, which is similar to those on offshore installations and vessels.
The platform, more than 50ft across, also features a model similar to the new E225 aircraft.
The latest investment takes Falck Nutec’s capital expenditure in the past 12 months to £1.1million.
Falck Nutec Aberdeen centre manager Catherine Liebnitz said the helideck would be a good training asset for the company, adding it would allow Falck to provide realistic specialist training.
Workers on courses including offshore emergency heli team member and further helicopter landing officer training will use the new platform.
Falck Nutec employs 70 people at the Aberdeen training facility.
