Oil firm Bridge Energy has won an explorer of the year award at a Norwegian industry event.
The firm, which works across the UK and Norwegian North Sea, follows in the footsteps of Tullow Oil, Statoil and ConocoPhillips in winning the peer-chosen accolade at Rystad Energy’s Gullkronen 2013 awards in Olso. Last year, Statoil was honoured for its discovery of the Johan Svedrupp field.
Platforms in demand
Prosafe said yesterday rising demand for its accommodation platforms in the North Sea and around the world had led to a rise in turnover and profits.
The Norwegian firm said operating revenue grew by more than 13% to £323million in 2012, while operating profits were up 16% at £141million. Pre-tax profits grew by 13% to £113million.
