Tribute has been paid to the chairman and co-founder of energy analyst Hannon Westwood Group, who has died aged 63.
Jim Hannon worked at BNOC, Britoil and BP before starting oil and gas consultancy Hannon Westwood in 1993 along with Charles Westwood.
Hannon Westwood said: “He was a much loved friend, colleague and family man, and will be missed by all at Hannon Westwood.”
Mr Westwood, the firm’s managing director, said: “I have worked closely with Jim Hannon for more than 30 years, both at Hannon Westwood and before that at BNOC/Britoil/BP.
“He was committed to seeing UK plc and the companies involved extract as much value from the North Sea’s oil and gas resources as possible and, among many other initiatives, championed many of the recent fiscal changes to enable that to continue to happen.
“The team at Hannon Westwood will continue his commitment and enthusiasm to achieve that goal.”
Hannon Westwood now works for government departments, trade organisations and oil and gas companies, and now has 20 staff and five executive directors.
