Draeger Marine and Offshore, a division of The Draeger Group, a €3.4 billion international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology, has today welcomed a new 3-year renewal of a global partnership with Shell.
The enterprise framework agreement is for the provision of portable gas detection equipment and a range of other safety technology for all of Shell’s on and offshore plants and installations worldwide.
Draeger’s Marine and Offshore division, based in Aberdeen, leads the company’s relationship with Shell in the UK, and it is hoped that the new agreement will lead to further work at Shell’s operations both in the North Sea and throughout the UK.
For the first time, the agreement includes rental as well as purchase options, following the launch of Draeger Hire, the firm’s new £2M UK equipment rental division, which was opened in Aberdeen in February 2021.
Paul Davidson, Account Manager at Draeger Marine and Offshore said: “We are delighted to welcome this new framework agreement with Shell and look forward to further supporting its operations both in the North of Scotland and wider UK. Shell’s approach to safety is market-leading and we are delighted to be able to play a part in its drive towards Goal Zero ambition to achieve no harm and no leaks across all of its operations.”
Chrystal Landgraf, Regional HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) Manager, Manufacturing Americas, Shell said: “In Draeger, we have found a contract partner with whom we can work globally driving our efficiency and safety and further contributing to our overall objective of Goal Zero. Our Goal Zero ambition is to achieve no harm and no leaks across all of our operations. Everyone working for Shell strives to achieve this goal each day. We want to help improve safety performance throughout the energy industry.”
As part of the deal, selected new products from Draeger will be tested and tried out as prototypes at Shell before they are launched on the wider market. “This framework agreement is a great opportunity for Draeger and a clear sign from Shell to continue investing in the partnership with Draeger. Together with the customer, we learn about market changes and new needs and can incorporate our findings directly into our future product developments and service offerings,” said Dr. Carsten Reh, Director Global Key Account Management Draeger Safety.
