North-east firm ROVOP, a specialist in subsea oil and gas technology, has spent £4million on two new submersible vehicles for its fleet.
Energy Secretary Ed Davey met bosses at the company during his visit to the area yesterday.
Mr Davey said: “ROVOP is a visionary company, which has fast become a leading specialist in its field.
“It is an example of how British companies are playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the UK remains at the global vanguard of the energy industry by capitalising on their expertise and reputation for innovation.”
Westhill-based ROVOP employs about 40 people. The firm said recently it had signed contracts worth £3.5million since the start of 2013.
