A recruitment agency based in Aberdeen has appointed private-equity investment expert Jock Gardiner as its chairman.
Mr Gardiner said he looked forward to helping TMM Recruitment achieve its growth plans, centred on the energy transition.
A well-kent face in north-east business circles, Mr Gardiner started his career as an accountant with KPMG before joining Aberdeen Asset Management’s private-equity team.
He went on to co-found Maven Capital Partners, which is being acquired by Mattioli Woods.
In addition, Mr Gardiner is a founding director of a new angel investor network, Alba Equity, and a trustee of Aberdeen FC Heritage Trust.
He said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of Chairman of TMM, working closely with the Board and senior management team to build on the company’s strong foundations and leverage new opportunities.
“Having been on the customer-facing side of recruitment many times, I’m enjoying the people-centred nature of the business and entrepreneurial spirit of the established team as we look forward, executing an expansion strategy centred around the ongoing energy transition and executive leadership in high growth and SME businesses.”
TMM has also appointed finance expert John Duncan as its new non-executive director.
Chief executive Amanda McCulloch said: “The appointments of Jock and John demonstrate how serious we are about achieving our growth ambitions.
“They are great contributors on the board and their depth of experience and strategic vision are invaluable as we develop our executive search service.
“Their extensive networks within the finance, energy, investment, and private equity communities strengthen our reputation as local leaders in financial recruitment.”
