An Aberdeen company specialising in environmental services for the oil and gas industry is celebrating two new contracts worth about £6million over three years.
Scotoil Services said the deals were with major operators in the North Sea but, because of confidentiality agreements, it could not name the companies involved.
Managing director Craig Smith said: “These contracts will help continue the growth within the business.
“It is great news not only for the company but also to our valued staff, who have many years of experience between them and want to utilise their specialised skills as efficiently as possible for our clients.”
Scotoil recently formed a partnership with Yorkshire-based industrial waste specialist Augean to offer services to companies with environmental challenges.
Mr Smith said: “Our close working relationship with Augean has grown in the past few years and its experience and range of services has opened the doors to many new opportunities.”
Scotoil also recently celebrated 30 years of operations from its harbour base in the Granite City.
Founded in 1982, the firm has expanded from a small staff of 15 to a business with about 60 people working onshore and offshore.
It has provided services to oil and gas companies operating in the UK, Norway, north Africa, Brazil and the Middle East, plus to onshore refineries, the chemical industry, universities and the Ministry of Defence.
Work carried out by the company includes environmental surveys, the supervision of well workovers, process-equipment cleanouts, and platform decommissioning projects.
