Bond Helicopters Australia said today that it had won its first major contract in the Australian region with PTTEP, part of Thailand’s national petroleum exploration and production company.
The multi-million dollar, five-year contract will include the provision of three Eurocopter EC225 helicopters to support PTTEP’s operations in the Timor Sea.
Flight operations are scheduled to begin in November 2013, from Mungalalu-Truscott in Western Australia.
Bond set up an Australian arm to provide offshore helicopter services to support oil and gas companies in Australia. Bond is part of the Avincis Group of companies, a provider of mission critical aerial services.
John Boag, managing director of Bond Helicopters Australia, said: “This our first contract in the region, and I look forward to continuing to build our business in one of the world’s fastest growing oil and gas markets.
“Bond has a long history of serving the offshore oil and gas market in Europe and we will use that experience to ensure we provide PTTEP with a safe and operationally excellent service.”
Avincis already operates in Australia through its subsidiary Australian Helicopters, which provides mission critical helicopter support for a range of services, including air ambulance, search and rescue, law enforcement and marine pilot transfer.
